The “Hunt Award” will remain an award presented by the S.E.C. Education Foundation. The Board of the Foundation has the sole responsibility to choose the recipient.
The EDF Board will discuss the award each year as a standing action item of the agenda of the last Board meeting of each calendar year.
The award “may, but not necessarily will” be given out each year as circumstances warrant. There is no reason why it “needs” to be presented each year.
The award is based on an individual’s dedication to the Society’s long-standing efforts to advance real estate education both on behalf of the Foundation and the Society at large.
Examples of possible future recipients include real estate professionals who have shown a particular dedication to real estate education and individuals who have served as Instructors on behalf of the Society and its education mission. This list of examples is not intended to be all-inclusive and should not be construed as requirements for the presentation of the award.
Future EDF Boards should have flexibility to determine whether a candidate has demonstrated the overall objective of “Excellence in Education” represented by the award based on subjective criteria in the Boards best judgment.
